Reference Checks

Reference checks are an important part of the recruitment process, make sure you do them! Its a means of verifying the candidates skills and previous experience, this is the opportunity to uncover any 'red flags'. Ask the previous employer specific but open-ended probing questions. Do a bit of digging with your questions "If the opportunity arose, would you hire them again in the future?"
